Alberta Landscape Photography
Alberta offers an extraordinary variety of landscapes to photograph, from the Canadian Rockies and alpine lakes to foothills, forests, waterfalls, rivers and wide-open skies. Based in Calgary, I photograph these environments throughout the year, exploring how changing seasons, weather and natural light transform familiar places. My Alberta landscape photography is shaped by a desire to capture not only the scenery itself, but also the atmosphere, scale and character that make each location distinctive.

Exploring Alberta Through Landscape Photography
Living in Calgary allows me to explore Alberta's landscapes regularly and return to locations as conditions change. Rather than treating a familiar viewpoint as a single photographic opportunity, I look for different compositions and perspectives that emerge with changes in weather, season, time of day and atmospheric conditions.
My approach is to photograph a place as it feels in that particular moment. I pay close attention to composition, depth, reflections, foreground details and the relationship between light and the landscape, allowing natural conditions to shape the final image rather than forcing a particular look.

Alberta's Canadian Rockies
The Canadian Rockies form an important part of my work in Alberta, offering some of the province's most dramatic and recognizable mountain scenery. From Banff and Jasper to Kananaskis and Canmore, the region provides an extraordinary range of subjects, from towering peaks and glacial lakes to valleys, rivers, waterfalls and alpine environments.
I photograph these areas throughout the year, exploring both well-known viewpoints and quieter landscapes where the scale of the mountains becomes the central element of the composition. The relationship between peaks, water, forests and surrounding terrain creates opportunities for different types of landscape images.
Lundbreck Falls Landscape Photography
Lundbreck Falls in southern Alberta offers a different landscape photography experience from the high mountain scenery of the Canadian Rockies. The cascading falls, rocky surroundings and changing skies create opportunities throughout the day and across the seasons.
After dark, the location can also provide an excellent setting for Milky Way photography when conditions are suitable. I arrange Milky Way photography workshops at Lundbreck Falls for photographers who want to learn how to photograph the night sky within an Alberta landscape.

Alberta Landscape Photography Tours & Workshops
I also lead photography tours and workshops across Alberta and the Canadian Rockies for photographers who want to experience these landscapes with a focus on photography rather than sightseeing. Each experience is designed around the location, photographic conditions and interests of the participants, with opportunities to spend focused time working on compositions and creating landscape images in the field.
From Calgary, I organize photography experiences in locations including the Canadian Rockies, Banff, Jasper, Canmore, Kananaskis and other areas of Alberta. For details about upcoming experiences, explore my photography tours and workshops.
